We are seeking an experienced and committed adult care professional to become the Registered Manager of Ecclesbourne Lodge – a 10 bedded transitional home located in Duffield, Derbyshire. At Ecclesbourne Lodge we offer exceptional transitional support for up to 10 young adults with learning disabilities.

With at least 2 years proven previous supervisory experience in residential adult services for those with learning disabilities, you will lead and manage a team of dedicated residential care staff and develop a proactive, innovative and best practice model of care delivery.

You will effectively manage every aspect of the care provision and ensure an outstanding level of service for those in our care and their families. You therefore must have excellent hands on skills to work with people with learning disabilities and who have behaviours which may be seen to challenge the service. You must have proven work experience in either: nursing, social work, psychiatry or psychology, or be able to demonstrate success in implementing and working with the Person Centred Planning model. You must also demonstrate excellent people skills and a have natural ability to develop positive relationships with purchasers.

You must have a relevant NVQ / Diploma Level 5 or equivalent (or working towards) and hold sound knowledge of current Care regulations for adults and all associated legislation.

This vacancy is open to internal and external candidates. A successful internal candidate will be offered the position on an initial 6 month secondment.

The house is located in Burton-on-Trent, a short walk away from shopping & leisure facilities. The City of Derby is within easy reach.

Main Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker you will be required to ensure the residents at OneNineFive lead active and full lives. This could mean helping our clients to cook healthy meals within the home, or supporting in variety of activities such as day trips to the beach, horse riding or even swimming. It all depends on the person you’re supporting and what they enjoy doing!

You will also be expected to deliver personal care residents if required; this includes supporting with toileting and bathing.

Essential Criteria

We are looking for Residential Support Workers who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for our young people.

You will be providing personal care to residents as well as supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and social occasions.

The role will involve working a combination of early and late shifts totalling 37.5 per week over a three week rolling rota, including some weekends.

      Park House is a community based residential home for eight adults. It is situated in the town of Bromyard within two minutes’ walk of the town centre. Contained within the main home are two flat-lets, which consist of bedroom, lounge and kitchen facilities.

      This enables residents to live in a semi-supported environment. There is also a newly built two bedroomed bungalow in the grounds which provides accommodation for two adults making their next step towards independent living.

      Park House is allied to the parent site of Winslow Court which specialises in the care of young adults with severe learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.

      We are looking for dedicated and reliable people who have an excellent work ethic and a passion for caring for and supporting adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Compassion and empathy are essential qualities required for this challenging and rewarding opportunity.

      Previous experience of learning difficulties is desirable however not essential as full training is provided and you will be supported in gaining recognised qualifications in health and social care.       • Permanent Full Time or Part Time Support Worker or Learning Support Assistant Vacancies
      • Bank / Casual Support Worker Vacancies for those who cannot commit to regular hours
      • Waking Night Care Vacancies
      • Ideally you will have previous experience in caring or supporting others and a relevant NVQ or Diploma qualification, however if you are new to this field, this is not essential as we offer excellent training, support and induction for all staff.
