Students and Residents took part in a new gardening competition ‘Rowden in Bloom’ this Summer.
The competition was open to every house for young people at Rowden House School, Cedar Lodge and residents at Winslow Court, Orchard End, Fairfield House and Park House. Staff were also encouraged to take part in the competition.
Judging took place at the end of August. The Judges were Martin Carter, Campus Principal, Tina Careless, Receptionist and Dave Thomas, Shift Leader.
Coppice House won Gold Award and £50 of garden centre vouchers.
Conifer House won Silver Award and £30 of garden centre vouchers.
Park House won Bronze and £20 of garden centre vouchers.
The Domestic staff team won the ‘Services’ prize, narrowly beating the kitchen team.
The event was very well supported and enjoyed. Plans for next years event, which will take place in June/July, are underway.
