Welcome from the head
Our school is situated in the heart of Mackworth, a suburb of Derby, with great transport links to a wide range of amenities in the city as well as access to parks and countryside. We have a large enclosed garden providing a safe and secure environment for the children.
The school is purpose built with light, airy and flexible education spaces, the residential home is modern, spacious and homely, all making Maple View a fantastic place to live and learn.
Maple View School is a small independent specialist school for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, aged 6 to 16 years. It is located in Mackworth, a suburb of Derby, the school is a short distance from the City Centre.
At Maple View we cater for children with a range of needs such as:
- Autism
- Moderate to severe learning difficulties
- Speech, language and communication difficulties
We offer day and 52-week residential placements and may also consider term time residential placements.
We have a multi-disciplinary team approach which encompasses education, care and therapy to ensure that all areas of our pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) are met. We have access to a range of professionals including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, psychotherapy, Psychiatry and Physiotherapy.
