Student’s Work Experience Leads to Accredited Qualification

Work Experience Forms Part of the Asdan Personal Progress Qualification

A student at Pegasus School has successfully completed his work experience as part of the vocational element of the nationally recognized qualification ‘Asdan Personal Progress Diploma’.

The vocational area of the qualification covers three individual units:

  • Developing skills for the workplace – getting things done
  • Developing skills for the workplace – following instructions
  • Health and Safety

The student ran this years Morrisons ‘Lets Grow Project’ for the school for six weeks.

Staff, friends, young people and their families donated the vouchers. As part of his work experience the student collected the vouchers from the collection box. Stapled them in books of ten vouchers and put them into the collection bag ready to go of to the supermarkets head office.

Once the value of vouchers was confirmed the student was able to choose the gardening equipment for the school, as well as spending the money(£1 per day) he had earned from running during the scheme.
