Just before half term, pupils at Maple View School enjoyed a visit to the zoo, bringing their classroom learning to life. In the lead‑up to the trip, pupils had been exploring the topic of animals and engaging with the story Gorilla by Anthony Browne. The visit to the zoo extended this learning beyond the classroom, giving pupils the opportunity to observe and interact with animals.
During the visit, pupils saw a wide range of animals and even had the opportunity to feed some of them, helping students to connect their learning to real‑life contexts. The trip provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build on their interests and share experiences with peers.
