Celebrating Culture and Community: Africa Day at Pegasus School

At Pegasus School, pupils are encouraged to explore and celebrate the cultures that make up the world around them. Just before the official date in May, the school came together to mark Africa Day.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a wide range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of different cultures. Learning experiences included exploring traditional fabrics and clothing, discovering wildlife and natural environments, and taking part in music, dance and games inspired by African traditions.

Events such as Africa Day reflect Pegasus School’s commitment to providing a broad and enriching curriculum that extends beyond the classroom. By celebrating different cultures and traditions, the school encourages pupils to develop awareness, respect and appreciation for the wider world.

The day was a fantastic opportunity for the whole school community to come together, with pupils and staff alike enjoying a celebration.
