Since the start of the year, a joint Key Stage 4 and 5 group of students who participate in the Planning for Events Enrichment option have chosen to use their talents and put their efforts into an incredible Enterprise Scheme.
The group work together to plan and produce individual dishes or complete meals from scratch. These items are then marketed and sold across the school.
So far, the group have produced an Apple Crumble (using apples from our own orchard) and a Chicken Curry accompanied with a homemade flat bread! The dishes come neatly packed with bespoke cooking instructions on the packaging. The feedback on both dishes has been extremely positive with the crumble being described by one happy customer as “the best pudding I’ve tasted in a long time!”
The money made from the sales will be split between a couple of charities that will be chosen by the group and some of the funds raised will allow the students to have a visit to a local business who provide food for various events. It’s hoped that this excursion will prove to be extremely informative for the group, supporting them to consider their next venture!
