On Friday 20th January 2023, Bladon House School celebrated their second annual Bladon Charity Day.

The event was created as a way of making young people aware of charities, the work they carry out, and the people (or animals) they support.

Throughout the two weeks prior to the event day, young people and class staff visited charity shops within the local area and bought items of clothing (and in some cases entire outfits). They also engaged in two assemblies and completed activities related to supporting good causes.

On the event day itself, young people and staff wore their new attire which had been bought from a range of charity shops. Some of those shops visited were Scope, Sense, RSPCA, Cancer Research UK, Oxfam, British Heart Foundation, and the PDSA.

The event not only raised money for a range of charities but it also provided young people with the opportunity to access the local community and to use their social skills outside of the classroom.
