SENAD Community West Midlands Achieves Outstanding CQC Rating

Senad Community, West Midlands, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded an Outstanding overall rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its latest inspection.

The service, which has its office in Coventry, provides supported living and personal care to autistic people and people with learning disabilities in their own homes, received Outstanding ratings in the Safe, Effective, and Well-led categories, alongside Good ratings for Caring and Responsive.

The CQC inspection found that Senad Community fully met the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, demonstrating a strong commitment to ensuring people are treated with dignity, respect, equality and compassion while supporting them to live as independently as possible.

Inspectors highlighted the strong learning culture, effective leadership and highly personalised approach to care. The report recognised how staff use specialist knowledge and professional guidance to support individuals with complex communication, health, sensory and emotional needs, enabling people to achieve meaningful outcomes and greater independence.

Helping people lead fulfilling lives

The inspection found that people supported by Senad Community are safe, valued and empowered to make decisions about their everyday lives. Inspectors praised the team’s person-centred approach, highlighting staff’s deep understanding of individual needs, communication styles and personal routines. This tailored support enables people to develop confidence, gain essential life skills, increase their independence and access meaningful opportunities within their local communities.

Families and relatives also spoke positively about the support provided. Feedback described staff as kind, patient and respectful, with a deep understanding of the people they support. Relatives highlighted examples of individuals becoming more independent, improving personal care skills, engaging more fully in community activities and gaining confidence in everyday life.

Partnership working

The CQC report also recognised the strength of the organisation’s leadership and governance arrangements. Robust quality assurance systems, continuous learning, reflective practice and effective partnership working with health, social care and housing professionals were identified as key factors in delivering positive outcomes for people.
