Admissions

Children and Young People are admitted in line with our Criteria for Admission. This is:

• Autism
• Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
• Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties
• Associated behavioural difficulties

We work with children aged 7 to 16 years.

Formal referrals are usually made by the Local Authority and supported with referral documentation. We also welcome private referrals, although an assessment must take place before Edgewood School can be named on a child’s Education, Health Care Plan (EHCP)

Following the assessment, we will produce a clear written report. If we can meet the needs of the child or young person we will also send a fully costed proposal.

Prior to admission we will plan the young person’s transition with parents and professionals to ensure this is as smooth as possible.
