Edgewood School will be the newest and latest edition to the SENAD Group portfolio. Our site in Lingswood Park, Northampton is a vibrant, ambitious and caring independent day and residential school for young people aged 7 up to 16 years old with a range of complexity and need, including; Autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, and associated challenging behaviour.

The Role

As a Support Worker you will support the young people to find a way of life that suits them as individuals, enabling them to access the community, get the most from their school day and achieve their personal goals.

You will ensure safeguarding is a priority at all times, support with personal care and have the young people’s best interests at the heart of everything you do.

Orchard End – Shift Leader/Lead Care Practitioner

About Orchard End…

Orchard End is a community based residential home for six adults and is situated in an acre of gardens in the Herefordshire Hamlet of Auberrow, conveniently placed between the market town of Leominster and the Cathedral City of Hereford.

What does the role of Lead Care Practitioner involve?

As a Lead Care Practitioner you will manage a small team of Support Worker’s ensuring each shift runs smoothly and effectively.

You will be responsible for conducting and properly recording regular supervisions for all team members in accordance with current guidelines.

If you have experience leading a care team or a minimum of one year’s previous experience of working with adults with severe learning difficulties and feel you are ready for the new step in your career apply today.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of one year’s previous experience of working with adults with severe learning difficulties and who can present challenging behaviours.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties
  • A natural respect for the dignity and individuality of each resident and an ability to promote these values within your team of staff
  • A valid current driving licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience of managing a small team of staff and delegation of workload
  • Previous experience of good supervision and supervision training.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Care or equivalent

Aran Hall School – Night Support Worker – Full Time – 10pm to 8am (Every other weekend off)

We would like support workers to join our ever growing team here at Aran Hall School. We provide 52 week residential care with education to children and young people with a range of learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour.

You will need to ensure that each young person is supported and cared for throughout the night in accordance with the highest professional standards and follow our policies and procedures.

You will join a team of experienced professionals and attend regular training sessions to ensure you have up to date knowledge to enable you to provide the highest quality of care.

Previous experience is beneficial, but not essential as we are able to offer the training and support required, we provide a full induction. The role can be challenging but it’s always incredibly rewarding.

We are a small school, with capacity for 18 children, including 7 residential placements, for children aged 6-16 with a range and complexity of needs including: Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, associated behavioural difficulties and Prader Willi Syndrome. We are now looking to add to our care team.

Our Residential Support Workers support the children to find a way of life that suits them and to help them achieve their maximum potential level of independence. You’ll be a role model and mentor and you’ll play a key part in supporting our young people. The role can be tough and challenging but it’s always incredibly rewarding.

We are looking for people with a passion for working with young people who have excellent communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not essential as we are able to offer the training and support required.

You will join a team of experienced professionals and attend regular training sessions to ensure you have up to date knowledge to enable you to provide the highest quality of care. You will support the young people within the home environment and classroom, teaching life skills like cooking, cleaning and giving academic support.

You will also be involved in the regular planning of activities to suit the interests of the young people you care for e.g. gaming, local walks and playing football. We expect all staff to be proactive and forward planning in this area to ensure the young people have access to a wide range of hobbies.

Park House – Support Worker – Rota pattern: 7.15am – 9.45pm – 2on – 4off on a six week rolling pattern.

About us:

Park House is a community based residential home for up to nine young adults with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. It is situated in the town of Bromyard within two minutes’ walk of the town centre. Contained within the main home there is also a flat which consists of bedroom, lounge and kitchen facilities.

This enables residents to live in a semi-supported environment, for young adults making their next step towards independent living.

 

About the role:

We are seeking Support Workers to support the young adults that we care for. We are looking for pro-active individuals who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for our young people. You will be providing personal care to residents as well as supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and social occasions.

The role will involve working a condensed rota of 7.15am – 9.45pm on 2 on – 4 off  basis over a six week rolling pattern, including some weekends and also includes up to three sleep ins per month.

No previous experience is required as full training will be given.

If you have the right values for our organisation, you will be supported by a programme of continuous training, learning and development, including the care certificate and NVQ level 3 in health and social care.

The successful candidate will support and assist the Shift Manager to lead and manage a team of residential support staff. To do this effectively you should have previous experience in working with those with learning disabilities and have successfully managed or led a care team.

As a Support Worker, you will be working within the residential setting, you will assist students with a range of care activities in the home and support students’ needs during leisure activities and school holiday periods.
