Bladon House School – House Manager

Bladon House School is a residential special school for young people with complex needs including Autism, Prader Willi Syndrome, and learning difficulties. We have a national reputation for working successfully with young people who have a previous history of challenging services.

Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will provide leadership and management to a team of residential staff and young people within a residential setting.

You will already have experience of working with children and young people, particularly with autism. Having already gained a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People, you will ideally already be working towards achieving your Level 4. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations 2015, the development of the service, consultation and decision making at both house and department level and the management of a team of staff. You should have proven experience of working with other agencies, shift patterns and rotas, safeguarding procedures and supporting with behaviour management. You will be expected to work a shift pattern covering weekends (but you will be flexible within this to meet the needs of the service). You will undertake senior on duty, senior on call and senior sleep ins. Across a seven day period, you will ensure that the children and young people in your house are well cared for and enjoy a life style that provides them with good experiences and appropriate opportunities.

You must have at least 12 months experience in a first line management role.

Bladon House School – Care Coordinator

This post requires the successful candidate to be an excellent team player, impeccable organisational, time management, and communication skills. You will build successful relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver and help deliver an outstanding service to our young people. This will include coordinating staff deployment, overtime, holidays, recruitment agencies, and assist in the recruitment of permanent Care team members. You will also be required to be Senior on Duty on a rota’d basis. You will possess a relevant Level 3 Diploma and have experience in working in a similar environment.

Bladon House School – Team Leader

We are seeking to appoint someone who is ready for the next step in their career, to provide leadership and management in order to achieve a service that provides a clear direction to all staff and outstanding care to the young people.

The successful person must be at least working towards the Level 3 Diploma in care or similar accreditation and have at least 12 months experience of working in a similar environment. You must have experience of leading a shift and possess knowledge of safeguarding procedures. We are looking for someone who has the ability to problem solve and is willing to challenge poor practice. Flexibility is essential, to work various shifts and cover holidays.

Residential Support Workers Ref BHS/RSW

Looking for a new challenge? Do you want to provide an ‘outstanding’ level of care to young people?

Working within the residential setting, you will assist with a range of care; this will include personal care with young people who can display very challenging behaviour. You will be required to support and develop the young people accessing the community, within their home and taking part in a wide range of activities. You will be expected to work a shift pattern covering weekends which will include some split shift and sleep-in duties.

Ideally we are looking for people who have worked in a similar environment and have experience of autism, mental health needs and/or challenging behaviour. Relevant qualifications would be an advantage, however not essential as we provide a full induction and Diploma training programme.
