    Winslow Court is a residential centre for up to 26 adults with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Winslow Court provides residential support for young adults aged 18 years and over, who have a severe learning disability, autism, communication difficulties, challenging behaviours, mental health and other complex needs.

    We are looking for Residential Support Workers who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for our young people.

    You will be providing personal care to residents as well as supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and social occasions.

    The role will involve working a combination of early and late shifts totalling 37.5 per week over a three week rolling rota, including some weekends.

    Pegasus School is an independent specialist day and residential school for young people aged 8 to 19 years with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have mental health and therapy needs.

    Students have personalised and individualized programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young person to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

    We are now looking to complement our team further.

    Working within both the residential setting and the classroom, you will assist with a range of care: this will include personal care and hygiene as well as supporting the students’ needs during leisure activities and school holiday periods. You will be expected to work a shift pattern which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

    We are looking for people who are willing to undertake a challenge and provide a high standard of care to young people.

    A requirement of this position is that you undertake a Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.

    Experience of working in a similar setting would be an advantage but is not essential.

        Park House is a community based residential home for eight adults. It is situated in the town of Bromyard within two minutes’ walk of the town centre. Contained within the main home are two flat-lets, which consist of bedroom, lounge and kitchen facilities.

        This enables residents to live in a semi-supported environment. There is also a newly built two bedroomed bungalow in the grounds which provides accommodation for two adults making their next step towards independent living.

        Park House is allied to the parent site of Winslow Court which specialises in the care of young adults with severe learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.

        We are looking for dedicated and reliable people who have an excellent work ethic and a passion for caring for and supporting adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Compassion and empathy are essential qualities required for this challenging and rewarding opportunity.

        Previous experience of learning difficulties is desirable however not essential as full training is provided and you will be supported in gaining recognised qualifications in health and social care. Previous experience of caring for others in your home or a domestic environment would be an advantage and it is essential that your values and respect for those in our care reflect our high expectations and standards.
